Happy Easter

Maggie seemed to enjoy her first Easter. We went to church with my parents and then the rest of the Nance/Isler/Pressnell clans converged for a yummy dinner and the obligatory egg hunt. MagB did not particpate in the egg hunt this year but - cousins be warned - next year it's on! She did, however, participate in her day care's egg hunt on Good Friday and I'm just going to come out and say it: she got gypped! Of the six eggs she came home with only two included treats - one with some gummy lifesaver bunnies (which mommy enjoyed) and one with some stickers. The rest were empty. Empty! WHO BRINGS EMPTY EGGS TO AN EGG HUNT??? Now I might not be so bothered by this had I not spent all week worrying about what to include in the eggs Maggie would take to school. I mean, what do you put in a egg for a 9 month old? Candy is out. Stickers are an option but they don't know what to do with them yet. Michael graciously raided two different Target stores looking for options. (Thank you honey!) We finally decided on socks. Exciting? No. But what infant could not use an extra pair of socks? And, they fit easily into a small plastic orb. Of course Maggie was not bothered at all by the lack of treats. I, however, was a bit miffed.

With that rant, I will leave you with some more Easter pics of Maggie and a darling video of Michael making Maggie laugh. I love that precious laugh!

Hope you all have a great week!

Water Babies

Last weekend was the first Water Babies lesson for Maggie. She really seemed to enjoy the water. Here are some pics:

Here's MagB sporting her cute little swimsuit cover up!

Waiting for class to begin - Maggie sizes up the competition!

Entering the pool. At this point she is still not sure what to think!

Getting the babies used to the water:

Blowing bubbles!

Now it's her turn!

The back float!

Underwater she goes:

Mommy was more bothered by it than she was!

Look Daddy - I'm kicking!

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!

A Day at the Park

On Sunday afternoon we took advantage of the nice weather and took a walk to the park where Maggie enjoyed being pushed in the swing and playing on other playground elements. Here are some pics from our adventure:

(A cold playground truth: When your ars is about as wide at the slide you don't travel near as fast!)

In this next pic we are obviously not at the park anymore. This is Mags with her new stuffed sheep that I found at Target and could not resist buying because it is just about the cutest, fluffiest thing ever. She, however, is not so sure what to think.

Hope "ewe" all have a great week!

Bathing Beauty (or Mommy is out of Control!)

In an effort to avoid the collossal fear of water (and swimming pool drains for that matter) that her Mommy has, we have signed MagB up for Water Babies "swim" classes through the local Parks and Rec department. Now this is a big step for me as the classes will take place at the local natatorium. Those that know me well know that - not only am I not fond of deep water and pool drians - I am especially not fond of deep water and pool drains housed inside an enclosed structure! I think it harkens back to what I have forever dubbed as the "Unfortunate deep-end incident of 1976" in which I fell into the deep end of a natatorium pool while watching "the big kids" dive after swim lessons. I remember two things about this incident: 1 - that I sunk straight to the bottom and 2 - the intense pull of the pool drain as it beckoned me toward the light. (O.k. - maybe, as an adult who somewhere deveolped a fear of pool drains (thanks to an Episode of Rescue 911), I am just "imagining" that number 2 happened. But number 1 really did happen as I remember clearly thinking, "Hmmm, wonder if someone is going to come get me.) They did, of course, and the rest, as they say, is history. Though I am now left with this fear I can not seem to overcome. (Don't even get me started on the kick boards!)

Anyhoo, as all new ocassions call for something new to wear, I went shopping for swimsuits for Maggie. And perhaps I went a little overboard (no pun intended) as Mags now has a different swim suit for every day of swim class. (In my defense, she did get one of these as a shower gift and they were cheap - so it's really like I just bought her one outfit.)

Here is our bathing beauty modeling her new suits:

This blue one is my fave! I just love the ruffles accross the thighs and butt - very 1950s!

Who doesn't love madras??

Every girl should own a bikini!

No words really. Just cute.

She got these sunglasses as a shower gift too. She really dug having these on.

On another note - it's funny what Maggie finds entertaining. This particular night flipping the bib back and forth was cause for much giddiness as you will see:

Hope you all have a great week!

Maggie's New Do!

This is going to be a pretty picture-intensive post. MagB got her first haircut this weekend and we went a little camera crazy at the cuteness of our sweetie pea's first new hair "do."
We took advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures and took some pics outside after church on Sunday. How much does she look like her daddy in this picture? Same smile. Same nose. Wow!

The rocking chair always makes for some good pictures!

Here are the pics of the actual haircut:

About halfway through the haircut Maggie turns to Michael and I with this look on her face. She was a little overwhelmed, I think.

Admiring her new look in the mirror:

I took these pictures once we got home. Perfectly coifed!

Hope you all have a great week!
