Bathing Beauty (or Mommy is out of Control!)

In an effort to avoid the collossal fear of water (and swimming pool drains for that matter) that her Mommy has, we have signed MagB up for Water Babies "swim" classes through the local Parks and Rec department. Now this is a big step for me as the classes will take place at the local natatorium. Those that know me well know that - not only am I not fond of deep water and pool drians - I am especially not fond of deep water and pool drains housed inside an enclosed structure! I think it harkens back to what I have forever dubbed as the "Unfortunate deep-end incident of 1976" in which I fell into the deep end of a natatorium pool while watching "the big kids" dive after swim lessons. I remember two things about this incident: 1 - that I sunk straight to the bottom and 2 - the intense pull of the pool drain as it beckoned me toward the light. (O.k. - maybe, as an adult who somewhere deveolped a fear of pool drains (thanks to an Episode of Rescue 911), I am just "imagining" that number 2 happened. But number 1 really did happen as I remember clearly thinking, "Hmmm, wonder if someone is going to come get me.) They did, of course, and the rest, as they say, is history. Though I am now left with this fear I can not seem to overcome. (Don't even get me started on the kick boards!)

Anyhoo, as all new ocassions call for something new to wear, I went shopping for swimsuits for Maggie. And perhaps I went a little overboard (no pun intended) as Mags now has a different swim suit for every day of swim class. (In my defense, she did get one of these as a shower gift and they were cheap - so it's really like I just bought her one outfit.)

Here is our bathing beauty modeling her new suits:

This blue one is my fave! I just love the ruffles accross the thighs and butt - very 1950s!

Who doesn't love madras??

Every girl should own a bikini!

No words really. Just cute.

She got these sunglasses as a shower gift too. She really dug having these on.

On another note - it's funny what Maggie finds entertaining. This particular night flipping the bib back and forth was cause for much giddiness as you will see:

Hope you all have a great week!

That is about the most precious thing I have ever seen! She is such a cutie pie!

I remenber the Natatorium incident well...I will never forget the look on your face looking up from the botttom of the pool. It still haunts me today!

Maggie's little legs look a lot like mine do now! It is not as cute on a 35 year old as it is on a 7 month old! I keep wondering when I will lose my "baby fat"! Ha!

That laugh had me giggling! She is so cute.

I must have not been born yet to remember the Natatorium incident. I do remember you always being afraid of the drain and the Natatorium.

She and Tatumn can be bathing beauties at the sprinkler park this summer!
